Most vodka gets its texture from distillation and filtration — stripping everything back until what's left is clean, neutral, and, frankly, a bit anonymous.
We do the opposite.
Every bottle in our Silvertear range is 60% pure Scottish birch sap, tapped straight from the tree each spring. And here's the part that makes us a bit different: we don't filter or distil that sap. It goes into the vodka as it comes out of the tree, texture and all. That decision is deliberate - it's what preserves the sap's naturally silky character, along with the small trace of natural sugar that gives Silvertear its smooth, almost creamy finish. For an independent Scottish brand still finding its feet, landing the single 3-star vodka award in the country is a serious statement. It's not a participation medal. It's confirmation that doing things the harder, more deliberate way - real birch sap, untouched by distillation - produces something genuinely worth putting a name to.
Where This Leaves the Category
Premium vodka's growth isn't a trend that's going to quietly reverse. Drinkers have developed a taste, literally, for spirits with a real point of view, and there's no going back to invisible. The brands that will keep winning are the ones willing to do things differently rather than safely: sourcing unusual ingredients, skipping the shortcuts, and letting the product's character speak for itself.
